The working class deserves a voice in congress. Let’s make a change together

working together, for a change

KEY ISSUES

  • HEATHCARE FOR ALL

Millions of Americans can’t afford healthcare. No one should have to choose between getting seen by a medical professional and life-saving medications or affording housing and food.

It’s estimated that about 25% of Americans avoid getting needed medical care due to increasing costs. Undocumented immigrants often avoid medical care for fear of deportation if a medical professional reports their immigrant status.

Everyone deserves access to medical care, it shouldn’t be a privilege.

  • HOUSING AS A HUMAN RIGHT

It’s estimated there are over 46,000 houseless individuals in Los Angeles. The COVID-19 pandemic further intensified this already concerning situation and these numbers continue to climb with inflating rent prices and a lack of livable wages.

There needs to be action taken to ensure everyone has access to affordable housing and rent control regulations to reduce the risk of someone losing their residence.

  • LGBTQ+ RIGHTS

With recent legislation passed and introduced throughout our country, it’s imperative that we pass legislation to protect people from these attacks on the LGBTQ+ community and their human rights.

They are disproportionately affected by the issues that we all face. The discrimination towards queer and trans community has led to higher youth homelessness, substance abuse, lack of medical care, and incarceration.

  • THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND ENVIORNMENTAL JUSTICE

In recent years we have seen an increase of extreme weather events throughout the country that are not typical for those regions.

For too long fossil fuel and energy companies have increased the speed of global warming. We need to implement the use of renewable energy to combat climate change.

Many Americans are facing unemployment we will create millions of jobs by transitioning to renewable and clean energy

  • REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE AND WOMEN'S RIGHTS

It’s been over a year since Roe v. Wade was overturned and hundreds of bills have been introduced that would restrict reproductive rights. Personal medical decisions should be between a patient and their doctor, and all options should be available without threats of legal action from the government.

Women have faced unequal pay, unfair labor practices, and lack of parental rights laws. equal work should mean equal pay.

  • ECONOMIC JUSTICE FOR THE WORKING CLASS

The middle class faces many issues today, including but not limited to, rising cost of living, unaffordable healthcare, unaffordable education, and stagnant wages.

In the gig economy, everyday Americans often face job insecurity, healthcare is often tied to employment so many are living without access to affordable healthcare.

It’s time to close the wealth gap and strengthen the working class
